Transit and Road Infrastructure Plan (TRIP)
[Posted: October 27, 2025]
Project website: Transit and Road Infrastructure Plan provides context and background for the TRIP, and access to all the Project documents including the Executive Summary (29p PDF). The plan includes: "Review network connectivity as well as multi-modal integration at key locations (e.g. nodes, major transit station areas, mobility hubs, and major transfer points)."
▶ City News Release (October 23, 2025): Moving Mississauga: New plan will guide City’s transit and road planning for decades to come.
Excerpt: The plan will guide the City’s actions, policies and investment in Mississauga’s transit and road network over the next 20 years. As Mississauga continues to grow, there is a need for a multi-modal transportation system that is safe, quick and efficient. The TRIP will guide Mississauga to prioritize transportation infrastructure more effectively, helping people reach their destinations as efficiently as possible, regardless of the mode of transportation they use. It will also help protect vulnerable road users like pedestrians, cyclists and transit users.
▶ Mississauga News article (October 26, 2025): What you need to know about Mississauga’s 20-year transit and road plan. "A blueprint to guide future transit expansion and road improvements as the city grows."
Excerpt: The plan sets out how Mississauga will shift from a car-focused network toward a more balanced system that supports transit, walking and cycling — a shift the city says is essential as population and travel demands continue to grow...While the focus is on expanding transit, the plan also highlights key road network improvements to support both goods movement and public transit. Projects include widening or extending major roads and adding grade separations at rail crossings to reduce bottlenecks. Some corridors may also be “rebalanced” — converting lanes or road space to sidewalks, bike lanes or turn lanes — with community input guiding final designs. The city says these measures will help create safer routes for pedestrians, cyclists and transit users.
